Dr. Matej Katavic
After graduating from Classical Gymnasium in 2004, he enrolled at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, where he graduated in 2010. He completed his internship at KBC Zagreb in 2011. After passing the professional exam, he began working at the Teaching Institute for Emergency Medicine of the City of Zagreb. At the end of 2012, he started his pediatric specialization at KBC Sestre milosrdnice and passed the specialist exam in 2018. That same year, he won the Croatian Pediatric Society's "Radovan Marković" award for his scientific paper "Immunization of Children with Congenital Heart Defects – A Clinical and Critical Review," published in Liječnički vjesnik.
Qualifications
In 2023, he passed his subspecialist exam in pediatric cardiology and continues his career as a ward physician at the Department of Cardiology, Nephrology, and Rheumatology with Clinical Immunology in the same clinic. Throughout his career, he has attended numerous courses and specialized in pediatric cardiology, with a strong interest in pediatric echocardiography. He has contributed to several professional and scientific papers as an author or co-author, with a focus on advanced echocardiographic methods, cardiomyopathies, and channelopathies.
