Dr. Tomislav Krcmar

Tomislav Krčmar, MD, is a subspecialist in cardiology at KBC Rijeka. He completed his specialization in internal medicine and narrow specialization in cardiology at the Heart and Blood Vessels Clinic of KBC Sisters of Mercy in Zagreb. On several occasions, he stayed at the Texas Heart Institute, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Houston, USA, conducting training in interventional cardiology, as well as ULSS No 13 in Mirano, Italy. In 2017, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zagreb on the topic "Acute thrombosis of the coronary artery as a predictor of the outcome of patients with acute myocardial infarction". He shows special interest in the field of complex interventions on coronary arteries, interventions on peripheral arteries, endovascular procedures on the aorta and in the interventional treatment of structural heart disease. He regularly and actively participates in international congresses of interventional cardiology (Euro PCR and TCT). He is a member of the organizing committee of a number of congresses with international participation, such as Corintervent, Crocomp and Crovascular. He is a member of the Croatian Society of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology and the Working Group of the European Society of Cardiology for Interventional Cardiology (EAPCI). He is active in the work of the working group for interventional cardiology of the Croatian Cardiology Society. He is the vice-president of the Croatian Endovascular Initiative and is one of the main co-organizers of the congress with international participation - HEVI 2018. He participates as an invited lecturer at endovascular medicine congresses in Croatia and abroad. He is the co-organizer of a number of workshops in interventional cardiology and is involved in the education of young interventional cardiologists. He is the author of a large number of publications in domestic and international journals, predominantly in the field of interventional cardiology.
