Anti-HCV (hepatitis C)
About
Anti-HCV are antibodies in the blood that are produced in response to an infection with the hepatitis C virus (HCV). This virus causes a liver infection characterized by inflammation and liver damage. It is transmitted through blood and sexual contact. Possible routes of transmission include exposure to infected blood (e.g., through transfusions or contact with healthcare workers), sharing needles among intravenous drug users, and unprotected sexual intercourse.
Infection with this virus can also lead to chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis.
