About

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a method based on the principle of electroanalgesia, stimulating A nerve fibers. Stimulation of A fibers blocks C fibers responsible for pain transmission at higher levels of the nervous system. A transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator (TENS) reduces acute and chronic pain and alleviates stress, tension, poor circulation, and fatigue.

Candidate

We use TENS for acute and chronic pain caused by various pathological processes, for rheumatic diseases, trauma, orthopedic diseases, neurological, gynecological and oncological diseases. It blocks and reduces pain in the spine, muscles and joints.

Preparation

Indication of a physiatrist is required.

Treatment

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) encompasses an electrotherapy procedure where electrodes deliver current to the painful site. The current is applied through electrodes, often with gel or moistened sponges to enhance skin conductivity as needed (depending on the device). The active electrode is placed on the painful area, and the other on the opposite side. The pain relief onset varies and typically ranges from 10 to 30 minutes during the treatment session.

ZagrebMed patient reviews

I needed help while in Zagreb with quite a complex problem regarding a non-EU prescription. Ivana from ZagrebMed went above and beyond. I've rarely encountered someone so professional and kind, who helped solve a medical issue, one often far more difficult when abroad, so quickly. I cannot praise her, and as a result, the ZagrebMed, enough.
