DNS – Dynamic neuromuscular stabilization

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, also known as DNS, is an innovative method of rehabilitation intended for anyone facing spine problems, such as lower back pain, disc protrusion, scoliosis, increased kyphosis or lordosis. The goal of this therapeutic technique is to restore painless forms of movement and raise daily functioning to a higher level.

It is especially recommended for athletes as an effective preventive measure for injuries and for the improvement of sports performance, including strength, endurance, stability and functionality of movements derived from strong trunk muscles.

DNS, as a functional-rehabilitation method of deep stabilization of the locomotor system, is based on the developmental kinesiology of the child in the first year of life. During this period, the child develops movement patterns that are balanced between the nervous and muscular systems. However, the modern lifestyle often leads to the loss of these healthy movement patterns, replacing them with non-physiological ones that often result in pain.

DNS is applied as a fundamental method for restoring pain-free positions and movements in the spine. It precedes all other forms of exercise to achieve adequate functioning of the neuromuscular system.

This method focuses on synchronizing movement and breathing, creating intra-abdominal pressure and encouraging synergistic activation of the deep trunk stabilizer muscles, which gives it its name.
